The Power of the Cross

The Power of the Cross

  • Theme:
  • Divine Power Revealed in What Seems Foolish

  • Scripture:
  • “For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:18

  • Teaching:
  • To the natural mind, the message of the cross seems absurd. Why would God save the world through a crucified man? The cross was a symbol of shame and suffering yet, in God's wisdom, it became the pathway to salvation.
  • Paul reveals that those who reject the Gospel see the cross as foolishness. They are blinded by pride, intellect, and worldly logic. But to those who believe, the cross is not foolish it is the power of God. It is where Jesus conquered sin, death, and Satan. Through His death, we receive life. Through His blood, we are made righteous.
  • The cross is not merely a historical symbol. It carries living, spiritual power. It breaks curses, heals hearts, and gives hope. True wisdom is not found in the philosophies of this world, but in the revelation of the cross. God chose what was weak to display His strength. In this divine exchange, we see the depths of God’s love and the height of His glory.

  • Reflection Questions:
  • 1. Why does the world see the cross as foolish?
  • 2. What does the cross mean to you personally?

  • Declaration:
  • I believe in the power of the cross. I am not ashamed of the Gospel. Through the blood of Jesus, I am saved, redeemed, and victorious. What the world calls foolish, I call divine.
